a mingle to kick things off
Monobear has been kicked, the mock murder never happened (edit: or did it...? Your memories might seem a little jumbled...), the first round of refugees has been picked up (sort of), and GETHOMEQUEST 2014 has begun.

Lysandre (SHSL Leader) | Pokémon XY | First Round/Mock Trial
It's in space, yes, but at least that's interesting, and somehow Miss Usami managed to not screw it up this time, and now here he is and here are a bunch of other people he knows and a bunch more that he doesn't, and he's...
...Actually, he's feeling kind of wary about distracting himself with his Pokémon like he often does in unfamiliar places. Huh. That's...strange, but you know what, he's going to just kind of pretend there's nothing unnerving about that at all.
He's most likely to be found poking around the holodeck because oh my god of course he is; he's not allowed in the simulations alone, obviously, but the machinery itself is fascinating enough for him and he may be taking notes on all of it like the tremendous nerd that he is. He's not anywhere near opposed to actually entering the simulations if approached, and if anything he kind of really wants to just to see what they're like
because apparently his luck is crap even in mock-rounds and of course the hologram specialist gets left out of the damn hologram simulation because he drew short straw.Otherwise, he can be found easily in the library - I mean really, this stuff is fascinating, and even if he doesn't necessarily understand why he's here of all places that doesn't mean he's not going to take advantage of it. In the most asocial way possible, but hey, at least he's not hanging out in any sort of pharmacy this time because he's rather aware that people tend to die whenever he hangs out in the pharmacy during the week.]

I've sniffed a lot of corpses in my day but I am pretty damn sure I sniffed yours at some point
lemme just
sneak up behind you and stick my nose in your ear to see if it rings a bell]

He tenses up a bit when he realizes but he doesn't seem too inclined to confront her; either everyone's self-preservation instincts are really low where he comes from or he was just raised to not be particularly wary of large, unfamiliar animals. (Because that's certainly not going to bite him in the
neckass one day.) Either way, where he's from he's dealt with the literal god of death and been unafraid of it; this certainly isn't any worseOH BLESSED ARCEUS WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH HIS HEAD -Just.
Let him step away from that, and while he does it in the twitchy, flinching sort of way that implies he wasn't expecting that at all, he seems more irritated than anything else because no really what the hell.]
...Can I help you?
[Admittedly, that's spoken in the sort of...odd, vague way that's usually reserved for people talking to things they don't expect to answer them in words - you know, the sort of rhetorical tone usually reserved for pets and malfunctioning machinery and the like. Not quite like he'd speak to his Pokémon, but that might be due to a lack of familiarity, who knows.]

[....]
I suppose I was mistaken, then! Small thing, your hair smells like flowers. It is rather pleasant. I imagine you would taste wonderful.
[If she noticed the tone, she makes no indication of it. Just...just shampoo talk here.]
no subject
...
...Was...that a compliment, because he's genuinely unable to tell...
You know, usually he's the one on the receiving end of the "Why on earth did you just say that" line of questioning, so to get this sort of feeling toward someone else - animal or otherwise - is kind of bizarre; between the entire experience with Archer last time and now this, it's like these experiences he has when Miss Usami is driving the boat are specifically designed to showcase how utterly obnoxious his usual behaviors tend to be. Good job, Miss Usami. Let's just try to Love And Hope the obnoxiousness out of him.]
While I'm sure that's a compliment of some sort, I don't think that's something you ought to broadcast.

...But of course, there's no way he could mistake the figure he comes across as soon as he gets there. Jimmy doesn't just....rush up to him like he might have done before, though. This is either a really elaborate dream playing an elongated cruel joke on him, or....well, actually let's not worry about that right now.]
...Lysandre! ....is...that you?
no subject
...His entire world also hasn't been destroyed by what amounts to a set of highly disgruntled teenagers, for another thing, and he can't trust himself to decide that whatever world the Future Foundation wants him to help save isn't worth saving in the first place.
But the voice behind him is familiar, and when he turns to face him he seems...a bit surprised, but he doesn't seem unreceptive, either. Just a bit uncertain.]
It's been a while, hasn't it?
no subject
So when Lysandre turns he offers him a bright smile, chuckling.]
It has. ...It's good to see you again.
no subject
Likewise, mon cher - I assume those friends you were telling me about are well, back in Miseryville?
[You know. Beezy and Lucy and all of those.]
no subject
Mhm, everyone's fine! Better than fine, actually. It was really great to get to go back home and see them again.
[Of course he and Heloise have elected to keep their experiences to themselves permanently, other than their sudden relationship being a thing. They can't exactly keep that under wraps, especially with Beezy generally being all up in Jimmy's business.]
...and....what about you? ...everything's ok for you back home, I hope...?
["OK", as in, "we haven't blown up the world quite yet"]
no subject
[...In other words, "not really but we're not going to go into detail," but at the very least it's still in one piece.
As it stands, he's not really wanting to discuss his own issues for the time being (as he still has...many of those, um); rather, he just tips his head a bit in the direction of the hologram machines.]
I understand that I could show you, if you'd like; I did promise that you would see Kalos one day, didn't I? I imagine now's as good a time as any.
no subject
I...I'd love to see Kalos, yeah!
[You can almost feel the waves of excitement coming from this kid. This is one thing he was not expecting to get to do, but also a thing he always dreamed of being able to eventually do.
...Apparently this is a promise Lysandre is actually going to get to keep.]

Surprisingly, she doesn't notice him at first. Despite how... vibrant he is most of the time. That's not to say that her eyes don't finally fall on him though. And you'd better believe she was happy to see him.]
Lysandre!
no subject
Lysandre hasn't seen her, or any of the others in his "class", since the last Mutual Killing Game; really, as far as the Future Foundation is concerned, he'd more or less fallen off the radar. He's not terribly interested in keeping in contact with most of them, when it comes down to it - oh, he thinks about some of them once in a while, surely (Jimmy and Veronica, and sometimes Archer when he's feeling particularly masochistic, and every now and then he'll think of something and wonder what bizarre nonsequitur of an observation Jumba would have to make about it), but it's never enough for him to want to try to do anything about it. He's not been in the sort of mental state that renders him useful when it comes to helping anyone, he has his own things to work out in that regard; besides, there's nothing he's seen of whatever world this Future Foundation comes from that makes him think that he wouldn't want to raze that to the ground, too.
The whole thing is kind of a weird subject, basically.
But he recognizes her voice immediately, despite the fact that it's been some time since he's heard it; he doesn't seem like he's not receptive to it, at least, if a bit awkward.]
Veronica - it's been some time.
no subject
It was almost odd seeing Lysandre here, and for the first time in so long. She'd tried to contact him multiple times following the end of murder island, but she wasn't surprised that he didn't answer. Somewhere along the line she just decided he was probably too busy and let it slide.
Well, here he was.]
It's uh... it's been a while, hasn't it?
no subject
As it stands, that question gets a soft noise of assent before he continues.]
I'm assuming you've been well?
no subject
[As well as a Frankenstein assassin can be.]
What about you?
no subject
[In other words, still convinced the world needs to burn, still not able to do anything about it yet. But otherwise he's fine, and at the very least he seems less...utterly made of despair by now, given that he was looking kind of rough during the latter half of the Killing Game, mirror island or otherwise.]
It's been a bit odd, returning to Kalos after everything that happened, but it's not been terrible in any way, let's put it that way.
no subject
I get that. Going home was amazing. I got to see Fran and the others again... but I did kind of miss you guys.

Either way, he looks up when she addresses him, and it takes him a moment to place her name.]
