Most of us woke up in some sort of holodeck simulation? There was this group of islands. They were pretty cool, actually. One of them even had a rollercoaster.

He was probably getting ready to bust out the really creative stuff later. I think the holodeck was probably just to distract us while he made his takeover complete... only he didn't seem to have in this timeline? It's weird.
